How does Slap work to bring an email in Notion?
Whenever you receive or send an email from your connected mailbox, a new page is automatically created in your Notion database. Replies to existing conversations will update the corresponding page, keeping everything in sync.
Can I use my own Notion database?
Absolutely! You can either connect your existing Notion database or get started with our free customizable Notion template.
Can I still use Notion’s comments to discuss internally with my team?
Yes! Even though Slap stores email conversations in the comments section, you can still tag team members and have internal discussions without any emails being sent to customers by starting your comment by #.
What do I need to use Slap?

You’ll need:

  • A Notion account (a free plan is sufficient)
  • A Gmail mailbox (Slap currently supports Gmail only)

How is this different from Notion Mail?
Notion Mail is an AI-powered email client that helps draft emails inside Notion but doesn’t integrate with Notion databases. Slap complements Notion Mail by adding full email-to-Notion page sync within databases. Learn more in our blog post here.
Does Slap work with email aliases?
Yes! Email aliases are supported. You can connect your main mailbox and use labels to route specific emails based on their alias. When replying to an email, Slap uses by default the alias that received the email. When initiating a new email conversation from Notion, Slap uses your default email address (defined in Gmail).
Can I choose which emails to sync with Notion?
Yes! You can filter emails using labels (manually or automatically) to decide which messages are synced into Notion databases. Full details are in our documentation.
